Google+: The Next Big Thing?

If by chance you haven’t heard of Google+ by now, you can check out the quick video below.

I have used Google+ for a few days and I must say, I love it! I honestly believe that Google+ is setting itself up really nice to overtake Facebook. Why would I say such a bold thing? Well, a couple of reason.

  • Google+ integrates with all Google services including Search, Docs, Gmail, YouTube and others!
  • Google+ is very simple, sleek and uncluttered. Facebook is quickly filling with ads, games and a bunch of spam.
  • Google+ is a breath of fresh air. Sometimes you just have to start over. After years of being on Facebook, it’s nice to start afresh with something.
  • Google+ is fun! There’s something about Google+ that is just fun.
  • Google+ is like the best of Facebook and Twitter mashed together. Plus, you can choose who exactly you share what with. Or just share with everyone.

So what do you think? Have you had a chance to check out Google+? What do you think of it? If you haven’t tried it yet, are you anticipating getting your chance? Let me know! I might just invite you ;-)

I thinkg Google+ is great. I affectionately call it g+ …not sure if that’ll catch on. I have to disagree with it taking over Facebook b\c I think they were made with two different intentions; however, some people may get so caught up in the multi-faceted functionality of Google’s newest toy that a “book of faces” becomes less enjoyable.

I really think Google+ is poised to takeover Facebook. Already over 10 million users and it isn’t even public yet. They just need to do a little more fine tuning and they should be good to go!

Hi Wayne, already been added to Google +1, and I am not disappointed. When I first tried it, I went directly to hangout and chatted with my friends. I tried the google circles which is similar to facebook’s friends list, but it looks more advance and fun to use. Usually, I am a bit lazy in categorizing my friends but with the circles it is like I am playing a game.

Hey Wayne, I agree with you about how great Google+ is the only bad thing about it is the age restriction you need to be 18+ to register. But still I think it will get big maybe bigger as Facebook.

I still believe Facebook will dominate the social networking era in coming years as they are as innovative & creative as Google. Only time will tell what will happen … :)
